Integrate knowledge and promote the dissemination of information.
Objectives
• Provide assistance to research and projects developed by the institution;
• Organize and preserve the institution's memory, as well as the intellectual production of its members;
• Make available collections and documents related to the organization's business;
• Make available various information supports;
• Observe, promote and seek activities in the corporate culture;
• Offer an environment that fosters research, study and the development of reading and research habits;
• Provide quality service to all library users.
History
De 1962 ao presente
"On July 2, 1962, the library was founded on the initiative of Dr. Mauro Sanábio, (in memorian) when the first Librarian washired. With the help of Translator Edouard Jean Thomassin, (in memorian) who was responsible for translating technical articles into the five languages: English, German, French, Spanish and Italian." The company's workforce began to grow, the demand for information increased, and so a source of consultation and reference became essential to serve as a basis for decision-making.

For 29 years the library operated in a Wooden and Masonry Building near Bandeira Square, which were close to the factory entrance.
In 1991 Magnesita went through a restructuring process in its operations, after HAY consulting company. During that year, the library was moved to the Research and Development Center Antonio Mourão Guimarães, according to the request of the manager Dr Alamar Kasan Duarte.
During 1994 Magnesita went through the process of ISO 9000 certification. The library supported the certification
Library was considered the best library specializing in refractories in Latin American.
In March 2023, the Library building was refurbished and renamed in honor of Dr. Geraldo Eduardo Gonçalves, (in memoriam) who was one of the first researchers and later the manager of R&D Center.

The collection is made up of bibliographic materials: technical articles - CDs, DVDs, books - theses - congress proceedings - courses - seminars - technical standards - periodicals - projects, technical reports, rare works, whose subjects are relevant to RHI Magnesita, with the aim of gaining joint knowledge./
Other requests for material, with the suggestions from users, are assessed and approved for purchase by the Manager. Donations are received and evaluated according to their relevance and established criteria.
Once they have been analyzed, they are separated to be incorporated into the collection or donated to other institutions.
Accessibility to the Collection
The collection is accessible to RHI Magnesita.
The loan is local or by e-mail and WhatsApp.
Time
The library building is open from 8 to 12am and from 1 to 5 pm workdays.
